A humble begining, it all started in the family front and backyard garden at St Marys in the mid-1980′s. With migrant parents and the eldest of 4 siblings, Mercedes had alot of responsibility from an early age.
Commencing part time work at the Sydney Flemington Markets from the age of ten, to help support her family, Mercedes was introduced to the Sydney Flemington Flower markets. The colours, shapes and fragrance of cut flowers captivated her imagination, and that is when, Mercedes Sarmini, floral birth,
commenced. The quest of not resting until I leave my floral signature on the world, is now over ten years in the making. With 7 books ready to publish, Mercedes’ first book shall be available for purchase just before Christmas 2008.
Mercedes, is a qualified Childcare assistant. And with her knowledge of floristry, Mercedes has been able to combine the two industries together and deliver, floral arranging workshops with kids. Mercedes has recently completed 28 floral DIY workshops with Flower Power; the largest nursery in NSW and VIC, and did a few shows with Don Burke. She has recently filmed 4 pilots and many more to films and deliver. The concept is floral arranging out of your front and backyards. But she has added some spice to the mix recently, she will also bring some flowers with to combine with the available flowers in your backyard.
Mercedes in the process of writing books and filming celebrity backyards as we speak. She has knowledge of the Horticulture industry and TV presenting skills. Mercedes has Smithers Oasis a worldwide sponsor supporting some of her projects. Smithers Oasis is a worldwide company that supplies floristry equipment to the flower industry.
Mercedes is teritary educated in Business Management and possess the highest level of Floristry qualification. She is also a qualified floristry teacher and has completed program of flower workshops to teach the passionate student.
